A-Z of Council Services:

Street Furniture

Street litter bins are provided, maintained and emptied in most areas of the District. Litter bins situated on the coastal and inland picnic sites and car parks that are owned by the Lincolnshire County Council are the responsibility of that Authority. Litter bins provided on the foreshore areas of Skegness, Mablethorpe/Sutton on Sea and within public parks and gardens are fully our responsibility.

The foreshore areas of Chapel St Leonard’s are under the control of the local parish council and it provides, maintains and empties the litterbins.

We also provide, empty and maintain dog waste bins throughout the District, in areas where dog walkers frequently exercise their pets and where the provision of dog waste containers will alleviate a dog-fouling problem. In addition we now have dual bins in central areas whereby dog waste and litter can be put in the same bin.

Bench seats are provided where considered appropriate on land owned by us for the purpose of providing suitable resting places for residents and visitors. Additional seating is often provided locally by the relevant Town or Parish Council and in some instances, such as costal and inland picnic sites, by Lincolnshire County Council.

In addition to seating East Lindsey District Council also provides shelters at appropriate locations such as bus stations and foreshore promenades.

We also provide signage throughout the area. Such signage generally presents information in the form of either directions to and identification of locations and buildings or safety advice / warnings.
