This service includes the sweeping, litter picking and general cleansing of public adopted highways, and District Council owned land which includes the emptying of litter bins and dog waste bins and the removal of dead animals.

Included within this service are:-

• Adopted highway cleansing.
• Foreshore / Promenade and beach cleansing at Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe, Sutton On Sea, Winthorpe and Skegness.
• Cleansing of District Council owned parks, car parks, recreation areas and coach stations.
• Autumn leaf clearance from the above mentioned land.
• Removal of dead animals from the above defined areas.
• Removal of dog excreta from the above defined areas.

This service is not available for:

• Area’s of public open land within the District that are owned and maintained by other bodies (e.g. parish councils)
• Private land
• Un-adopted highways

Responsibility for cleansing / maintenance of private land and un-adopted highways rests with the landowner.
