Safe Swim Policy
 

Children Under 8…

  • Must be accompanied by one adult to two children maximum, providing armbands or buoyancy aids are worn whilst in the swimming pool
  • Must be accompanied by an adult at all times within the complex
  • Additional children may be admitted providing they can demonstrate the criteria of the 'Pool Swimming Standard Award' (details available at reception)

An adult is a responsible person of 16 years or over

Children 8 to 11 years…

  • Children who are between 8-11 years of age and are not confident/competent swimmers must be accompanied by an adult at all times whilst in the swimming pool - one adult to two children maximum

A confident / competent swimmer is defined as an individual who is able to demonstrate they can swim two lengths

  • Group swimming may, by prior arrangement, have one responsible person supervising up to 10 'swimming' children. Subject to above regarding children under 8
  • The staff may, at their sole discretion, refuse admission if they believe that the safety of pool users is compromised.
  • Children may at times be asked to demonstrate their swimming competency
  • Always listen to the advice of the Lifeguards on duty
