Originally known as the 'Pleasure Gardens', the Park was opened in 1878 in picturesque style. It boasts a pavilion (temporarily closed), bandstand, lake, shelters and seating areas, a small play area and fitness trail, open grass areas for play and relaxation, and areas of luxuriant planting.
The work to restore Tower Gardens to its former glory, plus many new features, was completed in June 2000. Groundwork Lincolnshire undertook the scheme (valued at over 1 million pounds) in partnership with:
- Skegness Town Council
- East Lindsey District Council
- substantial funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund amongst others
There is a comprehensive event programme throughout the spring and summer to suit all tastes and ages and most of the events held in the park are free and are designed for your enjoyment.
An exception is made for the workshops where there will be a small charge to cover costs.
Facilities Available include:
- Toilets (includes toilet with access by RADAR key)
- Children’s Play Area
- Adventure run for older children
- Lake
- Open Grass Areas, Floral beds, Shrub and herbaceous plantings and mature trees
