Community engagement is a key element in the decision-making process. Throughout the early stages of this project, local people and other stakeholders were given the opportunity to identify the key issues and help us to develop the solutions.
We have encouraged people to set out their needs and aspirations and will support them in making a difference to sport and leisure in their community.
Different types of consultation
Two types of consultation have been run from the start of this project.
1. Statutory consultation - run for planning purposes as outlined in the Town and Country Planning Act (1990).
2. Non-statutory consultation - in an effort to design facilities that would fit the real needs of the community. This type asked people what they wanted in terms of leisure provision and space. The reports are available for viewing from this page.
We follow strict Audit Commission guidance when consulting with our stakeholders.
All consultation for this project has been conducted in a clear and transparent manner and will continue to run throughout the course of the project.
Look out for future consultation being advertised!
