A-Z of Council Services:

Healthcare Waste

We need to know if your household generates healthcare associated waste. Please contact us and we will help you to dispose of these items correctly. Larger black wheeled bins are available if required for those householders who produce healthcare associated waste.

Healthcare Associated Waste is to be placed in your black waste bin and will be collected on the normal refuse collection day, according to your collection calendar.

Once reported missed collections will normally be rectified within 3 working days.

Please make sure the wheelie bin is presented for collection by 6:30am.

If you receive an assisted collection your waste will be collected from the usual point.

Needles

We do collect sharps (needles). Once you have THREE boxes of sharps please contact us to arrange collection.

We do not provide sharps boxes; these are provided on prescription from your GP.

Clinical Waste

Clinical waste is infectious waste such as human tissue, blood, syringes and needles, and should not be disposed of with your normal domestic waste.

Clinical waste should not be taken to any of the Household Waste Recycling Centres in Lincolnshire as they do not have facilities to deal with this type of waste.

If you are a householder and have clinical waste to dispose of please contact your local health care professional or Primary Health care Trust for advice.

If healthcare associated waste, or clinical waste, is produced from residential and nursing homes, holiday makers staying in caravan sites, please contact us and ask for information about a schedule 2 collection.
