The Council's chargeable pre-payment service is for collection of a maximum of 3 bulky household items, and payment must be received before the order is raised.

This is not a general house or garden clearance service. We want to help you dispose of bulky items that are too big or too heavy to be placed inside your wheelie bin.

Bulky items are to be presented at the boundary of your property by 06.30am on your normal refuse collection day

Your bulky item will be collected within 10 working days. Householders should report items which are not collected within this time.  Missed bulky items will be collected within 3 working days.

White goods are collected separately from other bulky item collections.

Alternatively, some bulky items can be disposed of free of charge at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre or through charitable organisations that provide a ‘furniture re-use collection service’ and will collect furniture, bedding and curtains free of charge. These organisations will not take electrical items.
