The Building Conservation Section is involved in a wide range of activities which cut across all the roles of the Planning and Regeneration Department. These include the re-use of buildings at risk, development control, planning and policy advice and a variety of work to enhance quality of life for all.

Conservation Area Appraisals Consultations

 

Have your say about how we protect

Alford, Horncastle and Louth Conservation Areas

 

 

East Lindsey District Council wishes to adopt and publish Conservation Area Appraisals to help protect, manage and enhance the Alford, Horncastle and Louth Conservation Areas.  The Conservation Areas are areas of the towns that have a special character and are of architectural and historic interest.

 

The Appraisals will establish the most important characteristics of Alford, Horncastle and Louth and propose appropriate ways to protect these characteristics, manage and enhance the areas.

 

Until Friday 10 October 2008 QuBE Planning Ltd., consultants appointed by ELDC to help draw up these Appraisals, would like your views on the drafts of the Alford, Horncastle and Louth Conservation Area Appraisals which have been produced.  There are several ways you can tell us what you think:

 

·         View the draft Appraisals from the link below and print off and complete the questionnaires.

 

For Alford:

·         Attend the public exhibition on Friday 12 September 2008 at Alford Library in the South Market Place between 10:30am and 1:30pm when QuBE Planning Ltd. will be available to answer your questions.  Printed copies of the draft Appraisal will be available to view and questionnaires will be available for you to complete.  The exhibition will also be available to view at the Library during normal library opening hours until Friday 10 October.

 

·         View a printed copy of the draft Appraisal at Alford Town Council Offices and the Alford Customer Service Centre in the Cornmarket on the Market Place or at Alford Library in the South Market Place, where questionnaires will be available for you to complete.

 

For Horncastle:

·         Attend the public exhibition on Tuesday 9 September 2008 in the Committee Room at the Horncastle Community Centre on Manor House Street between 10:00am and 1:00pm when QuBE Planning Ltd. will be available to answer your questions.  Printed copies of the draft Appraisal will be available to view and questionnaires will be available for you to complete.  The exhibition will also be available to view at the Community Centre until 3:00pm on Tuesday 9th September and between 9:00am and 3:00pm on Wednesday 10th September.

 

·         View a printed copy of the draft Appraisal at the Horncastle Town Council Office and the Horncastle Community Access Point in the Town Hall on Boston Road or at Horncastle Library (temporarily located in the Horncastle College) on Mareham Road, where questionnaires will be available for you to complete.

 

For Louth:

·         Attend the public exhibition on Tuesday 9 September 2008 at Louth Library on Northgate between 2:00pm and 6:00pm when QuBE Planning Ltd. will be available to answer your questions.  Printed copies of the draft Appraisal will be available to view and questionnaires will be available for you to complete.

 

·         View a printed copy of the draft Appraisal at the Louth Town Council Offices and the Louth Community Access Point in the Town Hall on Eastgate / Cannon Street or at Louth Library on Northgate, where questionnaires will be available for you to complete.
