In January 2006 new Food Hygiene Regulations will come into force. All food businesses handling or selling high risk foods will be required to put into place a food safety managment system based in the principles of HACCP, (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
To help food businesses manage their food safely, and comply with the new regulations the Food Standards Agency has brought out the following self-help packs, which can be viewed and downloaded from the Food Standards Agency Website, by clicking on the titles below:
- SAFER FOOD, BETTER BUSINESS - ideal for small caterers with up to about 50 covers
- COOKSAFE - for much larger caterers who regularly prepare functions,who may serve well in excess of 100 meals each day
Our food safety officers will be happy to give advice and assistance to individual businesses on using either SFBB or Cooksafe. We shall also be holding seminars for businesses on SFBB over the next few months, so keep logging on to our website for details.
